BlackPeak Capital is one of the selected fund managers by the European Investment Fund (EIF) to manage a co-investment venture capital fund under the JEREMIE initiative.
The Fund, already operating with an initial capital of 10 million euros, focuses on investing in small and medium enterprises. BlackPeak Capital can invest with other financial investors or individuals under the same conditions of investment. The average size of the fund's investments will be in the range of 1-3 million euros, with the total investment, including that of a co-investor, amounting to 2-6 million euros. The fund will also invest opportunistically in companies in their early stage of development with investment amount between 300 thousand and EUR 1 million euros. 
BlackPeak Capital may invest in a broad range of industries, excluding agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and aquaculture. The fund's strategy envisages investments in emerging companies with a strong export potential, as well as leaders of the local market. Funds from investment through capital appreciation or mezzanine financing can be used by developers for various initiatives to support the company's growth. 
The team managing the fund includes proven professionals with extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital in Bulgaria. Rossen Ivanov co-founded Entrea Capital, a leading company in the field of mergers and acquisitions in Bulgaria and a partner of Rothschild for the country. Rossen has been part of McKinsey in New York and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London. Ivaylo Gospodinov is a former partner at Entrea Capital, and a longtime manager of Raiffeisen Investment Bulgaria. Ivaylo has been part of in Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen. The team aims to help the companies the fund invests in, not only financially, but also to actively participate in order to improve corporate governance and preparation for attracting a strategic partner or a listing at an international stock exchange.

JEREMIE is a joint initiative launched by the European Commission and the European Investment Bank Group to improve access to finance for Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in the EU within the Structural Funds framework for the period 2007 – 2013.
JEREMIE offers the EU Member States, through their national or regional Managing Authorities, the opportunity to use part of the resources made available from the EU Structural Funds and also national resources into Holding Funds. The JEREMIE Holding Fund provides finance to SMEs in a flexible, sustainable and innovative way, by providing equity, (micro) loans or guarantees financial instruments through selected local financial institutions acting as European Investment Fund (EIF) intermediaries. 
JEREMIE Bulgaria EAD is a special purpose vehicle company established in 2010 on the basis of the Framework Agreement between the European Investment Fund (EIF) and Bulgarian Government for the implementation of the JEREMIE Initiative. The company is fully owned by the EIF and will implement financial engineering instruments such as loan portfolio guarantees and venture capital investments to support growth and innovation among Bulgarian small and medium-sized businesses. Under the JEREMIE Initiative in Bulgaria, the company will invest in 5 private equity funds specialized in different stage of the economic lifecycle – seed, VC, expansion and mezzanine investments.
