BWA is the biggest non-governmental organization in the water sector in Bulgaria, which operates mainly in the fields of water supply and wastewater collection and treatment, water services and integrated water management.
BWA represents 80 corporate members /30 water utilities, 50 trade companies/ and more than 190 individual members /water professionals, academics and researchers/.
BWA prepares expert’s opinions on legislation, drawn up by the governmental bodies, develops strategies in the water sector and assists in establishing business contacts between its members.
BWA organizes conferences, workshops, round tables, as well as training courses for water operators.
BWA publishes the quarterly journal BULAQUA and is a member of IWA, EUREAU and EWA.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is an international financial institution which helps the transition to market economy in the CEE countries, Asia and Northern Africa. EBRD invests in projects in the private sector, as well as in publicly owned companies. In all its operations, the bank follows the highest standards in corporate management and sustainable development. It provides a wide range of financial and other services, which are purposed to assist the clients to accomplish their business aims.
Bearing in mind the mandate of the bank to nurture the private sector, EBRD supports its participation in infrastructure projects through PPP and concessions. This includes construction, maintenance and exploitation of the infrastructure – mainly of the roads and the municipal services.

Since the start of its activities in Bulgaria, EBRD has invested over 2.5 billion euros in different economy sectors, as in this way additional investments are mobilized for more 5.7 billion euros.
