General Terms and Conditions for Use of Economedia Websites
I. General Provisions
Please read these General Terms and Conditions of Use carefully before using the websites and mobile applications of Economedia AD (hereinafter referred to as "Economedia"). The internet websites and mobile applications of Economedia AD include Capital.bg, Dnevnik.bg, Karieri.bg, Regal.bg, Bacchus.bg, Odit.info, Digitalk.bg, Id.capital.bg, Economedia.bg (the "Websites") and the mobile applications Capital and Capital PRO (the "Applications"). These General Terms and Conditions constitute an AGREEMENT between you and Economedia, granting you the right to use the services of the websites and mobile applications for personal and non-commercial purposes, subject to the conditions below. These General Terms and Conditions have binding effect only in the relationship between you as a User of the services of the website or mobile application and Economedia. By accessing (loading) the web pages/mobile applications, you agree to be bound by these General Terms and Conditions and all subsequent changes thereto, and you undertake to comply with them. If you do not agree with all the General Terms and Conditions below, please do not use Economedia's websites and mobile applications.
Users are granted the right to use the services of the websites and mobile applications, hereinafter referred to in this document also as just the "site" or the "application", solely for personal/non-commercial purposes. When adding an opinion/comment in the forums, users agree to comply with the Rules for Using the Economedia Forums. Economedia is not responsible for the opinions expressed by users.
II. Basic Concepts
For the purposes of these General Terms and Conditions, the following terms are used with the following meanings:
"USER" is any natural person who uses any of the services on any of Economedia's websites.
"SERVICE/S" of the site include:
  • Access to information resources/data of the site/application provided via a web browser or mobile application;
  • Participation in the site's forums by commenting, rating, and reporting previously published opinions to a moderator;
  • Creation and personalization of user profiles through registration, which provides access to services for registered users, as well as for participation in the Economedia user network id.capital.bg;
  • Receiving email newsletters by Users of the site/application who have registered for the service.
"PARTNER" is any person with whom Economedia has a contractual relationship and on whose behalf Economedia has the right to provide additional information about their goods/services to registered Users of the site/application who have given their consent for this.
"MALICIOUS THIRD-PARTY ATTACKS" - actions or omissions by third parties that contradict the rules of internet ethics, including, but not limited to, DoS (Denial of Service), server intrusion, defacement, data theft, etc.
"DIRECT MARKETING" - offering goods and services to Users via traditional or electronic mail, telephone, or other direct means.
III. Intellectual Property Rights
  1. All rights reserved. All intellectual property rights over the information resources and materials published on the site/application are subject to protection under current legislation (including, but not limited to, the Law on Copyright and Related Rights, the Law on Marks and Geographical Indications, the Law on Industrial Design, etc.). Their unauthorized use constitutes a violation of the law and leads to civil, administrative, and criminal liability in accordance with current Bulgarian legislation. Economedia is the holder of related rights over its publications pursuant to Art. 72, item 5 of the Law on Copyright and Related Rights.
  2. Creative Commons. Part of the materials on the site/application may be used under the terms of the Creative Commons license. These materials are specifically marked with a sign indicating this circumstance.
  3. Use of RSS Feeds. RSS feeds are XML files used for the automatic aggregation of content from other sites, the address of which is specified in the meta information of each Economedia page. They contain a title, author, photo, and the first 500 (five hundred) characters of the article. They may be republished or aggregated on other sites without explicit permission. Any publication in a format other than a website (e.g., public screen) requires written permission from Economedia. If other sites use the photo attached to the RSS feed, it must be accompanied by the title, the first 500 characters of the text, and the author.
  4. Prohibition of Unauthorized Copying and Distribution. Users may not copy, reproduce, distribute, publish, modify, or provide content published on Economedia's sites and applications without prior written consent from Economedia, except in cases provided for by the Law on Copyright and Related Rights. For any copying of content permitted by Law, a notice that the material is subject to copyright will be automatically added.
  5. Protection Against Automated Analysis. Any automated extraction of text or information from Economedia's sites (text mining) without the express consent of Economedia is prohibited, unless otherwise provided in the Law on Copyright and Related Rights. Economedia applies technical means to recognize and restrict such analysis.
  6. Notification of Copyright Infringement. Upon establishing unauthorized use of content, Economedia reserves the right to take all necessary actions, including technical, legal, and other measures, to protect its copyright, related rights, and industrial property rights.
IV. Confidentiality
Economedia processes personal data according to the applicable legislation of Bulgaria and the EU. In connection with the use of the services of the sites and applications, we process personal data under the terms of our Privacy Policy, which you can find here. The policy is an integral part of the General Terms and Conditions.
Economedia may provide collected statistical information regarding site/application traffic to advertisers/advertising agencies who keep statistics on clicks and other user actions on their advertising banners and links, and may prepare internal statistics. Data for statistical purposes is provided anonymized.
V. Limitation of Liability
Economedia makes every effort to maintain true, accurate, and up-to-date information on its site and applications, without excluding the possibility that objective discrepancies or omissions may occasionally occur. Economedia is not responsible for the consequences, including potential damages, arising from or related in any way to the access, use, or inability to use this site/application. All information on the site/application is provided in accordance with current Bulgarian legislation. Economedia makes reasonable efforts to protect its integrity and safety from malicious third-party attacks.
Economedia is not responsible for subjective perceptions and interpretations of the accuracy, completeness, and usefulness of the information resources on this site/application.
Economedia is not responsible for information (including its completeness and reliability) contained in sites to which this site/application contains links. Economedia is entitled to compensation for all damages, expenses, and third-party claims resulting from a violation of these General Terms and Conditions and/or unauthorized use of the site/application services.
VI. Services Requiring Registration
Economedia reserves the right to provide access to certain services against mandatory registration. These services are:
  • Opportunity to read several articles for free on the Capital.bg website.
  • Commenting under articles that are restricted for commenting to registered users. These include all articles from Dnevnik.bg, Karieri.bg, Regal.bg, Bacchus.bg. Commenting under articles requires the user to comply with the Rules for Using the Economedia Forums.
  • Registration to receive newsletters of Economedia publications.
  • Following authors (capital.bg).
  • Following topics (capital.bg).
  • Recommending an article (dnevnik.bg).
  • Voting in a poll.
  • Rating/reporting a comment.
  • Voting in a debate (on the websites dnevnik.bg, capital.bg).
  • Suggesting a topic/cause/debate/poll.
  • Recommending a job advertisement (karieri.bg).
  • Publishing a job advertisement (karieri.bg).
  • Sending a news item/gallery for publication.
  • Recommending a restaurant (bacchus.bg).
  • Sending a private message (id.capital.bg).
  • Following/avoiding another user (id.capital.bg).
  • Participation in prize games.
Except for cases, products, and services for which payment is required, users have the opportunity to obtain free and full access to the sections of the site/application requiring registration after creating their individual user profile.
In the user profile settings, users undertake to provide true, authentic, and accurate information, complying with the requirements of these General Terms and Conditions and the Rules for Using the Economedia Forums.
Economedia reserves the right to decide whether to provide a profile/account to the user, to remove or restrict user profiles that it considers unacceptable at its discretion, or in case of reasonable suspicion of violation of these General Terms and Conditions or the Rules for Using the Economedia Forums.
Every 12 months from the start date of the user's registration, Economedia will remind the user to update their profile information.
Economedia reserves the right to discontinue the provision of the above-mentioned free services by publishing a notice on the site/application.
VII. Services Requiring Payment
  1. Economedia provides access to parts of or entire products and services against payment. These are:
  • Reading more than 4 articles per 30 calendar days on the Capital.bg website.
  • Access to some Capital.bg articles designated for reading only with a subscription.
  • Access to some Dnevnik.bg articles designated for reading only with a subscription.
  • The Capital PRO mobile phone application.
  • The Capital mobile phone application.
  • Use of the KAPI tool with financial information for companies.
  • Reading publications from the Library section of the Capital.bg website that are not marked as free access.
  • Access to articles that are part of the Capital archive.
  • Access to articles that are part of the Dnevnik.bg archive.
  • Commenting under Capital.bg articles.
2.Use of Paid Content
Access to paid articles, analyses, and other materials offered by Economedia is limited solely to personal use by registered and paying users. Their sharing, republication, or use for commercial purposes without prior permission is prohibited.

VIII. Changes
Economedia reserves the right to make changes to these General Terms and Conditions, as well as the Forum Rules, at any time, promptly publishing these changes on the site/application along with a notice of the changes to the General Terms and Conditions.

Notice of Changes in Intellectual Property Rights Policies
Economedia reserves the right to change its content protection policies to ensure compliance with Bulgarian and European legislation. All changes will be published on the site and will take effect after notifying users.
For all issues not settled by these General Terms and Conditions, current Bulgarian legislation shall apply.
These General Terms and Conditions were adopted and entered into force as of 15.09.2008, amended as of 28.01.2010, amended as of 16.03.2011, amended as of 20.07.2011, amended as of 23.05.2018, amended as of 28.03.2023, amended as of 28.03.2024, and amended as of 30.01.2025.
